Because of ongoing and potential loss of their sea ice habitat resulting from climate change, polar bears were listed as a threatened species in the US under the Endangered Species Act in May 2008.

The cheetah is a member of the big cats family and the world's fastest land animal. Once easily spotted throughout Asia and Africa, cheetahs now face extinction. They are threatened by hunting, habitat loss, and the decline in population of their prey. Their future is in our hands. It is up to us to safeguard it.

One of the strongest members in the big cats family, the leopard's numbers are steadily declining. Mostly hunted for their fur, many subspecies of the leopard family -- including the snow leopard -- are now critically endangered.
