CHARITABLE GIVING: We donate a portion of the sales of some of our images to various animal charities and conservation organizations. This will be specified in “The Story Behind the Shots”.
QUALITY ASSURANCE: All Giclee prints are printed to art gallery standards on high quality, acid-free papers with archival inks to ensure light fast durability. Each print is hand-signed by me in the border just beneath the image area. I check each one to ensure quality before it is sent to the buyer in either a flat photo envelope or mailing tube. Ship time varies depending on shipping location and print time. I recommend all photographs to be professionally mounted and framed.
PURCHASING: Prices are in US dollars. Unframed prints are supplied either carefully rolled in a tube or flat in a hard photo mailing envelope. All purchases are securely processed by Paypal or Stripe. Shipping rates are for the US only. For shipping rates outside the US, please contact us.

"Near and Far" was shot in Serengeti, Tanzania in February 2014.
It was elected Editor's choice for a 2016 story on National Parks & the 2014 National Geographic Traveler Photography contest, a National Geographic Photo of the Day on May 11, 2016 & Oct 22nd 2014 and National Geographic "Top Shot" in March 2016.

The Story behind the Shot:
During my safari in the Serengeti in February 2014, I spotted a large herd of approximately 80 elephants walking through the green fields towards my car. It was a dream of mine to capture a bull up close, and I knew patience would be the name of the game. I waited quietly with the car turned off for hours, hoping they would continue in our direction.
One of the larger bulls marched head-on towards us, and then waited while the rest of his herd kept a greater distance. It was as if he were their protector, and when he sensed we weren't a threat, he allowed them to march peacefully by us.
To get this shot, I laid on the floor of the car, looking up towards him. I knew when his herd walked by, he'd turn from us and move in their direction again, and I hoped to catch him in profile with the elephants in the background between his legs.
Quality Assurance:
Unless otherwise noted, Limited Edition Giclee Prints are limited to a run of 50 prints per the following sizes: 16x20, 20x30 and 30x40 inches, for a total of 150 prints. Each print has a wide paper border and is hand numbered and signed by me just beneath the image area. I check each one to ensure quality before it is sent to the buyer. All prints are printed to art gallery standards on high quality, acid-free papers with archival inks to ensure light fast durability. All sales are final.
