MAIN SAFARI:

DAY 1: EXPERIENCE NAIROBI
They say if you blow into an elephant’s trunk, he’ll remember you forever. What better way to start your African adventure than with a PRIVATE, INTERACTIVE experience at David Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage where you can actually play with baby elephants? The magic continues at The Giraffe Centre where—if you are very brave!—you may “kiss” a giraffe! Service is our specialty. We’ll be there every step of the way to guide you and take care of all your needs so you can relax and enjoy your adventure!

DAYS 2 & 3: SWEETWATERS / OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY
Located on the plains of Mount Kenya, Ol Pejeta is home to the "Big Five" (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo, and leopard) as well as the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa. Don’t miss your chance to meet Baraka, the sanctuary’s blind black rhino who is so comfortable with people, he will eat hay from your hand! Ol Pejeta also hosts Kenya's only chimpanzee sanctuary (formed by Jane Goodall), and shelters large numbers of rare and endangered species, including Sudan’s daughters, the last two Northern White Rhino on Earth protected by 24-hour armed guards.

DAYS 4 & 5: SAMBURU
Samburu National Reserve is famed for its rugged beauty, rich wildlife and semi-nomadic Samburu tribesmen. In addition to elephants and a plethora of big cats, Samburu offers a "Special 5" unique to the area: the long-necked gerenuk, Grevvy's zebra, the reticulated giraffe, Beisa Oryx and the Somali ostrich. It’s also home to our favorite leopard, a notch-eared beauty named “Neloua,” but we just call her “Mama” because she’s been such a great mother to all her cubs!

DAYS 6-8: MASAI MARA
Famed for its large population of black-maned Masai lions, African leopards and Tanzanian cheetahs, Masai Mara also welcomes the The Great Migration. Witness Nature's grand spectacle of zebra and wildebeest as they journey to Mara each July and August in search of fresh grasses. Explore Mara’s rolling hills and plains for a chance to spot big cats like Morani, the last of the “Musketeer” brothers, The Black Rock Pride, and The Tano Bora coalition of cheetahs. Enjoy extras like a Hot Air Balloon Ride over the plains to view the Migration from above, a Sundowner, or an Evening Game Drive. We strive to fulfill your every desire to make this the trip of your lifetime!

DAY 9: TRAVEL TO OLARE MOTOROGI CONSERVANCY OR RETURN TO NAIROBI
Travel back to Nairobi and home, or stay on to continue your adventure in Olare Motorogi Conservancy!

ELEPHANT LOVERS’ EXTENSION—TSAVO & AMBOSELI:

(NOTE: This Extension PRECEDES the Main Safari.)

Experience the magic of Tsavo and Amboseli, two of Kenya’s more remote parks, both teaming with elephants! Enjoy an intimate, interactive, 2-day experience with the orphaned elephants rescued by David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust as they transition back into the wild in Tsavo. Then travel to Amboseli where you’ll see huge herds of wild elephants against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. This is guaranteed to be the experience of a lifetime for anyone who loves animals, but for elephant lovers especially.

DAY 1: TRAVEL TO TSAVO EAST / ITHUMBA
After an early breakfast, depart for Tsavo East. Along the way, you'll hope to encounter Tsavo's famous "red elephants" along with big cats and -- if you are very lucky -- wild dogs. Arrive at Ithumba in time to see the elephants’ afternoon feeding. Often, large herds of ex-orphans and wild elephants accompany them!

DAY 2: TSAVO EAST / ITHUMBA
Each day at Ithumba offers 3 interactive experiences with the elephants!
1. Arise at 5:30am to witness the elephants' 6am feeding.
2. At 11am, the elephants gather around a large waterhole to drink and have a “mud bath”. Interacting with the orphans as they play in the water will be in experience you'll remember always.
3. At 5pm, watch the elephants get their bedtime milk, play, and go back to their stockades for the night.
In between, you’ll enjoy sumptuous food, prepared lovingly by Sheldrick’s extraordinary chefs, and have the option of game drives around Tsavo East.

DAY 3: TRAVEL TO AMBOSELI
Arise at 5:30am to say goodbye to the elephants at their morning feeding. Then, depart to Amboseli National Park, an area of low, "scrubby" vegetation and open grassy plains, all of which makes for easy game viewing. Amboseli is best known for its large herds of elephants and stunning views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest mountain. During game drives, you are guaranteed to see elephants, but you may also see lions, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, gazelle, buffalo, leopart, spotted hyena, giraffe, cheetah, and over 300 kinds of birds.

DAY 4: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Full day of game viewing in Amboseli.

DAY 5: TRAVEL BACK TO NAIROBI
After breakfast and checkout, you’ll return to Nairobi where you’ll enjoy the afternoon playing with the baby elephant orphans at Sheldrick’s orphanage in Nairobi! Then visit the Giraffe Centre for a chance to kiss a giraffe!

(HURRY! Space is EXTREMELY LIMITED! Reserve Your Spot TODAY!)

OLARE MOTOROGI CONSERVANCY EXTENSION:

DAYS 1 -3: OLARE MOTOROGI CONSERVANCY
Guests opting to join our Olare Motorogi Extension will spend two full days and nights exploring an area of extreme beauty with an abundance of big cats, including Fig and Figlet, two of OMC’s ultra-photogenic leopards!

We love the conservancies for a bunch of reasons:
7. They’re GORGEOUS!
6. They’re private, with only a few boutique camps.
5. They often have higher concentrations of wildlife than the National Parks.
4. Driving off-road is often permitted, allowing for more intimate sightings.
3. The number of cars at animal sightings are limited to 4 or 5 to protect the animals, so there are no “mob scenes” as you may see in the parks.
2. Exciting night game drives and walking safaris offer a fantastic compliment to your safari!
1. But the most important reason to visit a conservancy is……
It’s a magnificent and powerful way to support Kenya’s people and animals!

Prior to the creation of conservancies, animals outside the protected areas of the parks suffered serious decline due to human-wildlife conflict. Now, since landowners collect income from the conservancy fees and lodges, they no longer think of wildlife as a nuisance or a threat to their livestock, but something valuable that needs to be conserved and protected. As a result, the animals’ populations in these areas are starting to thrive again. And because conservancies also support schools and hospitals, the communities are thriving too!
