OVERVIEW:
February is a fantastic time in Tanzania: Witness The Great Migration of Wildebeest as they travel to the Southern Serengeti/Ndutu region to give birth to their calves. It’s a grand spectacle that attracts wildlife enthusiasts and big cats alike. See cheetahs, lions, and leopards up close and in action, hunting their prey.

DAY 1: ARRIVE ARUSHA
Arrive in Arusha where you will be greeted at Kilimanjaro Airport and escorted to your hotel. Most international flights arrive at night. If you choose to arrive in the morning or the day before, you will have the added option to experience Arusha. Explore the curio shops, boutiques and art gallery at Cultural Heritage Centre, or enjoy lunch at the Arusha Coffee Lodge where you can also visit Shanga, a cultural project that employs people with disabilities to create unique, high-quality hand-blown glassware and jewelry using recycled materials. If you can't wait to start safari, visit Arusha National Park for a spectacular view of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest mountain. Service is our specialty! We will be there every step of the way to help guide you, and we'll set everything up according to your preferences so you can relax and enjoy your adventure!

DAY 2: TRAVEL TO NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA
After an early breakfast and check-out, you’ll travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation area. Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch and an afternoon of activities which can include a nature walk, bike ride, visit to a local village, or just relaxing by the pool.

DAY 3 - DESCENT INTO NGORONGORO CRATER:
Arise early morning for breakfast and your descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, perhaps the prettiest place in all of Tanzania. Often referred to as "Africa's Garden of Eden," the crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered by many to be the Eighth Wonder of the World. It's the largest un-flooded and unbroken caldera on Earth, formed when a large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself two to three million years ago. Now, it's home to over 30,000 animals, including all members of The Big Five. You will enjoy a full day game drive along with a picnic lunch with the hippos at the Hippo Pool before beginning your ascent to your lodge, which overlooks the crater's rim.

DAY 4: TRAVEL TO NDUTU (NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA)
Depart after breakfast and set off for Ndutu, a part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area that shares the Southern Serengeti ecosystem. Off-road driving is allowed here, giving you a front-row seat to Nature at her finest. Millions of wildebeest will call this area home for the next few weeks as they give birth to their babies. All the big cats, especially cheetahs and lions, follow the herds to enjoy a wide selection of prey. Witness the Cycle of Life, as some wildebeests are born, while others fall victim to their predators.

DAYS 5 & 6: NDUTU (NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA)
Full days of game viewing in Ndutu/Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

DAY 7: TRAVEL TO SERENGETI
After an early breakfast, set off for Serengeti National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Renowned worldwide for its incredible scenery and magnificent wildlife, the park is home to the "Big Five" (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo, and leopard), as well as cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and the Annual Migration of two million wildebeest. The Southern Plains give rise to the large, granite rock formatons of the Moru Kopjes. Spend full days in search of big cats and other animals, taking in the splendor that surrounds you.

DAYS 8 & 9: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Full day of game viewing in the Serengeti.

DAY 10 - RETURN TO ARUSHA:
Travel back to Arusha where you can choose to travel home, or stay on to enjoy one of our travel extensions, such as the relaxing beaches of Zanzibar, or Gorilla Trekking in Uganda.
